BALLOON REVEALS "MONSTROUS" SCALE OF INCINERATOR

4.00.00pm GMT Thu 29th Jan 2009

STIG

Stephen Gilbert has said that the raising of the balloon over the incinerator site at St Dennis shows "the monstrous scale" of the planned incinerator and "has made me and the campaigners even more determined to oppose the plans."

The Prospective MP for St Austell and the clay villages, said: "You had to see it to believe it; the balloon literally towered over St Dennis and would dominate the village and area completely. No community should be expected to live so close to such a monstrosity. St Dennis is not going to roll over and accept this, we will fight it all the way. Incineration is not the right technology, one site is not the right solution and St Dennis is not the right place."
