The Post Office Limited has accepted an invitation from local Lib Dem Parliamentary candidate Stephen Gilbert to send representatives to two public meetings to discuss the proposed closure of Tywardreath and Charlestown Post Office.

Stephen Gilbert said: "I contacted the Post Office and asked them to come down and face local residents and I am pleased that they have accepted. I think it is very difficult for them to get a good impression of the geography of the area or the strength of feeling in the community from behind their desk in Belfast. I hope that the meetings will be a chance for the public to put their concerns direct."

Both meetings will take place on Thursday 28th August, in Charlestown Church at 6pm and Tywardreath Church at 8pm.
