Stephen Gilbert, the Lib Dem Parliamentary Candidate for Newquay, was with local Councillors and party supporters at the town's Chester Road shopping centre today [Tuesday 11th September].

Stephen met with residents and visitors to the town and got further backing for his petition on affordable housing.

Stephen said: "As well as affordable housing, the people I spoke to today were very concerned about fire provision in Newquay and anti-social behaviour in the evenings. I understand that the County Council are currently reviewing fire cover in Cornwall. I will be meeting with local police to see what more can be done to help ensure that local residents can feel safe on the streets."
