Matthew Taylor campaigning to save local post offices

Liberal Democrat councillors and M.P. Matthew Taylor have joined forces to call on the government to safeguard the future of the local post office network.

Under the last Conservative government, 3500 local post offices closed, and under Labour, another 4000 have closed, hitting communities especially hard in areas such as Cornwall. Now government support for small post offices could end along with the Post Office Card Account.

Matthew Taylor said, "At a time when banks are being exposed for their unlawful charging policy which has hammered the less well off members of our society, it is vital that alternatives such as the Post Office Card Account are retained."

Help us to save the post offices by signing our online petition.
